Literacy Celebration Growing a culture of confident readers Book Week at Merryland International School Uganda gives learners time to enjoy books, discover new authors, share stories, and express their imagination through reading-inspired activities. The event brings together classroom reading, storytelling sessions, character presentations, creative writing, library visits, and peer reading moments that help learners build vocabulary, confidence, and a lifelong love for books. Character Day Learners dress as favourite story characters and explain the books that inspired them. Storytelling Students practise speaking, listening, imagination, and expressive language. Library Time Guided reading moments help learners find books that match their interests. Creative Writing Learners write short stories, poems, reflections, and book responses.
